Ways and Means Committee Releases Draft Proposal to Extend and Improve Adoption Incentives ProgramLawmakers Encourage Public to Comment on Draft Adoption Legislation That Improves Opportunities to Place Foster Children in Permanent Homes; Action Expected in SeptemberWashington, D.C. – Today, the Ways and Means Committee released draft legislation to extend and improve the Adoption Incentives program. The draft was developed with the goal of producing bipartisan legislation based on testimony received at a Human Resources Subcommittee hearing earlier this year. The Adoption Incentives program is authorized under current law through September 30, 2013. The draft legislation would: The public is encouraged to submit comments on the draft legislation by email at AdoptionIncentives@mail.house.gov no later than August 30, 2013. The public is also encouraged to submit comments regarding the Guardians for Children Act (H.R. 2979), related legislation introduced by Rep.
